Title: Walk the talk

The book of James is focusing on the active and the practice to the people at once

James 1:22-25 (New International Version)

22Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror 24and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it—he will be blessed in what he does.

The problem with christian like us, is not about getting access with the bible but is acting on what the bible says

Spiritual obesity happens when you know to much and yet not applying to your daily life

The knowledge of the bible will still remain as knowledge of we choose not to apply it.

The bible is not like some "Hocus pocus" thing. The bible is simple,but is simplistic, it is mystical but not mysterious.

It is not about the amount of things we do not know in the bible that needs to bothers you, but is about the amount of things that we knows that we never apply.

The bible is like a mirrors that reflect who you really are. Reflecting the good and bad things about yourselves

You can come to church and listen to the sermon ( looking into the mirror) and yet walk away not having any change;because you never apply it in to your life ( forgetting exactly how you look)

Some of us the reason why we can walk away and forget about ourselves is because we don't trust the mirror(the word of God)

Stop looking into the fun house mirror that tricks you from the exact you. look in tothe real mirror that is from God

Staring at the mirror will not change anything, but acting on it will change something.

The bible cannot change our life, but application can. Tranformation will then be happening

Title: Big

Question: Are you doing something big with your life? Or just basically wasting your life and time .

What is big is your life?

We must not focus on the trivial things in our life but look in to the big things that you can accomplish.

Matthew 6:25"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life[b]?
28"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Verse 33: seek Him first the kingdom of God

The question that we need to ask ourselves is :"What is the thing that you are praying big?".

We need to commit this year to pray for something that is real God's size. Something that big that on God can accomplish it... something that if God don't turn up for it, you will be in deep trouble

The size of your prayer communicate the size of the God to your friends and people around you.

We need to pray the prayer that is do big that will proably twist your faith .

Luke 11:1-4-
1One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, "Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples."
2He said to them, "When you pray, say:
" 'Father,[a]
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come.[b]
3Give us each day our daily bread.
4Forgive us our sins,
for we also forgive everyone who sins against us.[c]
And lead us not into temptation.[d]' "

The key not be backslide is to....
1) 15 Min talk to God
2) 15min listen to God
3) and share with someone about God

The point of prayer is not to repeat same things again and again but is to pray BIG,BOLD, SHAMELSSLY

Verse5-6: God is the sleeping guy. Sometimes that we pray, we may feel this way that God is asleep and not listen to my prayer

Shameless, bold, persistent: The guy that is knock is desperate for bread.

And it is because this guy desperateness , he will get what he wants.

The friend that is sleep will have no choice but give the bread to him

Verse 9-So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you

Luke 18:1-8-The Parable of the Persistent Widow
1Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. 2He said: "In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared about men. 3And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, 'Grant me justice against my adversary.'
4"For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, 'Even though I don't fear God or care about men, 5yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won't eventually wear me out with her coming!' "

6And the Lord said, "Listen to what the unjust judge says. 7And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? 8I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?"

God is not offenced by desperate and demanding prayers but is actually honoured by it.

Our prayer need to be bold, shameless, and persistent

We just need to keep knock, seek, ask!!!!

The value of something is determined by the price it will bring

We have a tendency to value people based on their value to us, not their value to God

We value the people whom the people we value, values.

Example:
Our parents values our grandparents we will value our grandparents as well by respecting them.
or
Since my friend values this person, i would value him/her as well by treating him/her nicely.

1 John 4:9-11
This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

Ought in greek means 'owe it to them'

God valued everyone so much that He sent His son to die for them!

Its about the value of people to God
To value people like how God valued them, we need to look at them through the eyes of God.

God declared our value on the cross

Do we value God enough to value the people that He values?

INTERMISSION by BRX

During intermission, it is good for us to strategize.
The original intent for intermission is for the players/actors to take a break.
In our christian walks, we have intermissions too! These intermission periods allow us to reflect and have time to prepare to act on it.
However, some christians stay in the intermission period for too long or they do not realize their roles and as a result, they get distracted during that period.

²²Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. James 1:22-25

Just like the mirror, the word of God reflects who we really are, the true us, our characteristics.
It's only when we look at ourselves in the mirror of God's word, then we will know who we truly are.
A lot of time, we don't examine ourselves during the intermission period and we get distracted and overwhelmed by all the things that's around us.
Or sometimes, we bombard ourselves with 'WHYs' rather than spending the time to reflect.

⁸See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.

Colossians 2:8

"We can know a lot but if we do not use our knowledge to elevate ourselves, then we might not be good stewards.
If we are serious about a change, we will work on it and keep trying till we succeed!

²I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked men, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false.³You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary. ⁴Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken your first love.

Revelations 2:2-4

Different kinds of intermissions

1) After you made a prayer till it comes to a past.

2) After a sermon and till you apply it.

3) After doing and learning something from your quiet time.

What is the buzz of your life? Sometimes this buzz is irritating but it catches your attention!

Six things to take note!

1) Determine the actions that goes along with your prayer or the decision you have made during the sermon

2) Start talking a.k.a creating a buzz!

3) Get into a routine.

4) Learn all we can.

5) Examine your plans on a daily basis.

6) Keep looking for oppurtunities to grow.

²¹"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. ²²Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' ²³Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'

It is important to identify which intermission period that you will get distracted or overwhelmed etc. So that we can watch ourselves and prevent it! Apply the sermon is your life and see the change! (: All the way Acts 3!

Although we don't say it with our mouth, but sometimes deep down in our hearts, we know that there is instances in which we have doubts on God, that hinders the very faith that we claim to have.

The decisions that we made today may not have its outcome happening instantaneously, right in front of our eyes. Sometimes it takes time. Therefore, we need to have the 100% faith on God.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (New International Version)

5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;

6 in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.

*Acknowledge is always talking a submission. Submitting....

*The path means lifestyle

*Straight means prosperous,great outcomes, blessed

We must not trust our heart when we are making our decision. That is because, the voice from your heart, sometimes maybe right and sometimes wrong (not the way God wants you go).God knows us the Best. TRUST IN HIM, SEEK HIM.

In all things we do in our life, it never begin with a good planning, or decision. it always starts with a Good Belief system that recognise God knows us the best; even better than we know ourselves.

1 Kings 11 - In the story for King Solomon, we see a great irony. In the proverbs, he stated that "in all your ways acknowledge him ", but towards to end of this life, he have his life to do whatever he think is right, causing unexpected, bad outcomes.

We need to make a decision today....
Do you belief that God knows your He best?
And if your belief...
Do want to follow Him with the decision that you are going you make..?

Truth Collide Pt2

Hello peeps. Cynthia here. Yesterday, God showed me a vision of removing a bandage during Tuesday Prayer Meeting and I thought I would just share to you guys. :D

God explained to me so clearly. When we injure ourselves, when we have deep cuts, we bandage our wounds because we’re afraid that the bacteria will go in and infect it or because it’s ugly or even some other reasons. In our lives, it’s similar. We tend to bandage up the hurts we have in us. Because we’re afraid that these wounds will get deeper, they might hurt more or because they are ugly. But God said, take off the bandages man! When we take off the bandages, we can ‘air’ our wounds and it heals faster and leave no scar! And God promised that He will be the one that heal these wounds. Question is, are we willing to take off our bandages and have faith in Him that He can heal it.

If you guys are having any problems or hurts that you have 'bandage' it up, it's time to let go, LET GOD! :D It's time to remove this bandage and let God do His healing work in you. If you're not willing to remove the bandage, how then can it heal fast?

Share with you guys a verse (:

Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security.

- Jeremiah 33:6

This is a promise from God! That He will bring upon healing. So what are you guys waiting for? It's time to claim it and remove your bandages.

WHEN TRUTH COLLIDES PART I

Key Verse: Romans 12:2-3 (NIV)

²Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

³For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.

When we are young, we have our own dreams and goals. But as we grow up, these dreams and goals somehow drift away from us.
The dreams and experiences that we have doesn't determine what we will get.
Sometimes, just by one small little mistake that we make, *poofs* we're off the track.
What we believe in > The decisions that we make > The outcome that we get

We often try to change the decisions we made and we expect to get a different outcome. But we're wrong! We will still get the same outcome because it's not the decisions that we make that determine the outcome. It is the belief system that we have that affects our decisions which results in that outcome.
It is important for us to have the RIGHT BELIEF SYSTEM, and this system should be inlined with God, and we can do this by transforming our minds and looking through God's colourless lenses. :D
Three things about renovations:
1) It is messy.
2) It takes time.
3) It has a spectacular ending!
Renovation requires you to take out the old stuff and putting in the new stuff.
Even though, this renovation might be messy and it's time consuming, it will end up with a SPECTACULAR OUTCOME! So be patient and wait, and hang in there. :D
The world we're living in has a lot of wrong belief systems. We need to be alert and watch it so that we don't buy into it. And we need to get ourselves rooted in the word of God, transform our minds daily!

Reflect upon your lives, what are some of the wrong beliefs that you have held in you that results in wrong decisions made and a bad outcome? Recognize it and begin to RENOVATE it.

AUDACIOUS PRAYER TO AN AUDACIOUS GOD

Definition of audacious: Extremely bold or daring; recklessly; fearless

Joshua 10:7-14 (New International Version)

7 So Joshua marched up from Gilgal with his entire army, including all the best fighting men. 8 The LORD said to Joshua, "Do not be afraid of them; I have given them into your hand. Not one of them will be able to withstand you."

9 After an all-night march from Gilgal, Joshua took them by surprise. 10 The LORD threw them into confusion before Israel, who defeated them in a great victory at Gibeon. Israel pursued them along the road going up to Beth Horon and cut them down all the way to Azekah and Makkedah. 11 As they fled before Israel on the road down from Beth Horon to Azekah, the LORD hurled large hailstones down on them from the sky, and more of them died from the hailstones than were killed by the swords of the Israelites.

#1. AUDACITY
The prayers that we pray must be BIG enough to blame God for!
Pray prayers that are so BIG and HIGH that it is impossible with us, but all will know that IT MUST BE GOD!

1 John 5:14
"This is the confidence we have in approaching God, that if we ask for anything according to His will, He hears us."

Hebrews 4:16
"Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need".

#2. ACCURACY
The thing you are praying should be CLEAR ENOUGH TO ASK GOD FOR.
A good prayer has to be SPECIFIC, MEASURABLE AND IMPOSSIBLE TO ACHIEVE

#3. ACTION
The thing you are asking God for has to be GREAT ENOUGH TO FIGHT HARD FOR!
Take action that corresponds with the faith we asked in.
As we do the natural, God will do the super! This results in the SUPERNATURAL :D
Pray and pursue! And for every action we take, God will do more!

Proverbs 21: 31
"The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the LORD."

Pray that I will be very sensitive to the Holy Spirit and God to be guiding me closely throughout the trip
Pray that my body will be healthy throughout the trip
Pray that the team will be bonded together and we can work well together towards the purpose of the MT
Pray that tiredness won't be something that reduces my efficiency
Pray that God will do something really awesome there using us, and touching the kids' lives

Pray for my cell group to be protected while I'm in Cambodia
Pray for my studies that I can finished my project and assignment before leaving

Title: The Lord's Prayer

Matthew 6:9-13: Disciples want to learn how to pray

In this Lord's Prayer is just a heading, an example for us to kick start our prayer life

The prayer can be broken into four parts

1. Our Father in heaven (setting the tone of prayer)

- God is the father that is perfect

- God the great and mighty Father that ought to be feared and respected -when we start to pray, we should not just focus on what we want to pray but on the Father that is in heaven.

2. Hallowed be thy name (Priority of prayer)

- Hallowed= be honoured

Monday	Immediate family (God is a holy God)
Tuesday	Extended family (the lord is my righteousness)
Wednesday	Colleagues/Classmates/Friends (the lord is my healer)
Thursday	Church(Leader & Cellgroup) (the lord is my shepherd)
Friday	Our government(Singapore) (the lord is my provider)
Saturday	Other countries(Mission) (the lord is my peace)
Sunday	Worship God for who He is

1 Samuel 2:30 - when we honour God, God will honour us back

3. Attitude of prayer (Your kingdom come and your will be done on earth as it is on heaven)

- Our attitude got to be submissive

- Whatever that God ask us to do we will submit to it

- We cannot have that kind of attitude that goes to pray with two choices for God to choose

- When God's kingdom, there will not be sharing of Gospel, thus we need to pray and act for people's salvation now; everyday

- When you pray, that is when you can See God's kingdom in our family

- Before we are winning for souls, we got to be weepers of soul

1 timo 2:1-2 - pray of our authorities

4. Dependence on God in prayer

A) (Give us today our daily bread): our daily necessity

B) Daily forgiveness (forgive us our debts as we have also forgive our debtors)

- Romans 8:1

- Parental forgiveness

C) Daily temptation (leads us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one)

- God I am facing a temptation now, and leading out of it now

¹⁴After the people saw the miraculous sign that Jesus did, they began to say, "Surely this is the Prophet who is to come into the world." ¹⁵Jesus, knowing that they intended to come and make him king by force, withdrew again to a mountain by himself.

When Philips is saying that "eight months' wages would not buy enough bread for each one to have a bite", he is actually look at the massive crowd of people that is on desperation for food and got overwhelmed, but not Jesus. So how many people there is exactly in the crowd? The bible tells is that there is 5000 men; and adding their wife and children, there should had been around 20000 hungry people desperate and wasn't sure what to do.

Woah..... Just imagine 20000 people run around, yelling, crying, and showing their desperation for food; that looks like it is a total chaos.

Besides having Philips that look to massive crowd and got worried about it, Andrew also question God with the limited resources that they got. He said "here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among many"

I think during that point of time, the situation over there is that chaotic that Jesus decided to ask them all to sit down. Question, why did Jesus asked them all to sit down? It is because Jesus wanted to teach and show them something. It is exactly like that the illustration when a father wants to discipline his son. The father will not be able to discipline his son when his son is all around running, thus the only way to get the son's attention is to get him to sit down. In his case God is like the father that wants to discipline his son. Sometimes, when we are in head blasting chaotic situation, God is asking you to sit down so that He can guide you and teach along on what you should be doing; never allow the limitation of your resources or situation to divert your focus on God.

After which, we all know the story continues when Jesus gave thanks to God for the little amount of food and it multiple to many that can feed the thousands.

We want to be CHAMPIONS remember? And that also means that, we need to trust in the Lord more.

Five things that can be seen in David's life that we can cultivate

1. He raise up from famine situations

David was not sent to the prophet as he is the rejected one among the rest of the son

Hovever,Inspite of him even being rejected in the begining, he raise up above the rest to do great things for God

The only time when you have a perfect family is when you die, thus for now we need to accept our imperfect family and raise from it to shine for Jesus.

2. Willing to undergo training

When David is protecting his sheep, God was actually training him for his destiny

When you went through trails, you need to look at the positive things bad not the negative side

3. A champion knows how to handle critism

Some of our parents, is actually very negative in their words. We must not be affected but to strive beyond it for God

With so much negative that is spoken to us. We need to know how we should manage it but not cripple but it

We cannot stop other people from saying negative but we can stop them from planting the word in your heart.

In the name of Christ, we need to reject those negative word

We cannot just puck away the plant just once, but daily to make you effective

Reject negative words and embrace positve compliments and corrections

4. Know the source if it's strength

David knows that the source of his strength is the Holy Spirit

Similarly, the secret of overcoming is to tap on the Holy spirit

We need to cultivate the habit of getting to the Holy Spirit when we are in trouble and trails

When you want to live your life victoriously, you need to start to walk with the spirit

The bones that the verse is talking about is the derams that we have

The one point that we need to know is to speak to a prophetic message - verse 4

The prophetic message is the word of God, thus we need to know the word of God

Dry bones are the died end situations that we face in our life

Many at times, we complain to God when we face dry bone situation rather than praising God

A)Propheize- make declaration on what is to come ( speak the future)

Often, we speak of what has already happened and be very negative to it

B) Declare by divine inspiration

Speak a prophetic message with God's word

we cannot keep the habit of speaking negative stuff to ourselves when something bad happened to us

Psalm 137- they are people that is very depressed as they are out from their own land

When you speak negative things on your life, you are begining to make your dreams into bone dry

Therefore, we need to prophetize over our dry bones

how should we react towards all bad things that happened

Prophesy when.           (any frustration)
Prophesy when.     ( any lack or need)
Prophesy when.     ( any problem)

Matthew 12:33-37 : we are going to pay accountable to the things we say by God

A good person will produce good fruits.

We are products of the things we speak. And therefore can we revive our dry bones

S.H.A.P.E What's Next?

There is no one like you! You're unique. (:

After we know our shape, we need to know how to move our shape towards the kingdom's purpose! *important point to think about.

We will gain a new perspective and understanding only when we go through the journey.

If you want to see your life successful, you need to work on the things you have and not stay silent or stagnant.

All the sugar rush/adrenaline rush/excitement are temporal. Only God's things are eternal.

If you know it, verbalize it. And when you do it, give God the glory!

Three steps in finding your kingdom dream:

1) Connect with God.

God is always pursuing us and calling out for us. We just need to respond by saying hello. It is just that simple.

John 15:5
⁵"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

We need to connect to God in order to have a fruitful life.

We need to pray, listen and immerse in God's words.

Romans 8:28

More than conquerors
28And we know that in all things God works for the
good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

There is a purpose behind your past experiences.

With experiences, comes wisdom and knowledge. Thus, we will know more about God through the things we experience as God will reveal himself in the experiences.

Our experiences are unique! God takes each experience ( be it good or bad ) to teach us something new!

However, experiences aren’t always positive. Bad experiences happen to good people too.

The key thing is that we must love God! For Christians who love God, they will use experiences to learn and grow. For Christians who don’t love God, they will think that God doesn’t protect them therefore, letting them go through all those bad experiences. And for people who don’t know God, they will just treat it as coincidences.

The story of Joseph:
1. Genesis 37:3-11
2. Genesis 37:18-36
3. Genesis 39:6-14
4. Genesis 40:5-23
5. Genesis 50:20

Through the numerous experiences that Joseph went through, it leads to who He is today. If he complains along the way, things may not be the same anymore. As long as we love God, we will hold on!

There must be the presence of bad experiences to let us know how ‘good’ the good experiences are. Just like there must be the presence of valleys to let us realize how pretty the hilltops are.

Through these experiences, God will send people to help us in our lives. We must be open to it and after then, we will then be able to help others too.

Three things we need to know about experiences:

1. Our past experiences is God’s foundation for our own futures

• 1 Corinthians 1:3-5
3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. 5For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows.

• Quote: “Life can only be understood backwards, but we can only live it forward”. A lot of times, when we are going through these problems, we will think that it is tough and difficult to overcome. But when we have break out of it, and when we look back, we will then realize how we have grown from these experiences.

• Our lives may have broken glasses, but God can use these broken glasses and craft it into a beautiful piece of stained glass.

2. Our past experiences can be used to comfort people

• We cannot ask directions from people who haven’t been to that place before.

• God can use you, experiences, problems and etc to heal others.

• Psalms 50:15
15 and call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me."

• We must recognize that God will be with us during times of troubles, He will be there protecting us in His arms.

• God wants us to have transparency in our lives and not hide our wounds and hurts.

3. Our past experiences with God can lead and teach others about God.

Even when David is small and weak in his position, he still has the heart that want to do big things (and that is to kill Goliath)

Today you will not hear any story about any stone, goliath, or even David if he chose not to obey his father at the start.

GREAT ACCOMPLISHMENT START WITH SIMPLE OBEDIENCE

Besides that, most great accomplishment always starts with something small; and only if we will be faithful in doing those small things then God will promote you for greater you.

The abilities you do are a strong indication of what God wants you to do with your life. They are clues to knowing God's will for you... God doesn't waste abilities; he matches our calling and our capabilities

Heart (Passion)

We are all wired differently

Passion is the fuel for life. It is the great source of energy and drive that makes you explore new vistas, developing new relationship and seeking solution to perplexing problems

Passion is also something that you will invest your time, energy, resources so that at the end of the day you have a deep sense of fulfilment

Question that we need to ask ourselves is what is the passion that God had given you?

Some of us:

Had lost your passion
Don't what your passion is
And, know your passion and yet nor doing anything to nurture it

If you do not know your passion, you are actually fulfilment other people's passion (but not yours)

Some of us, we know the passion and yet we suppress it with the critics that people made on us.

God want us to live a unique life with a unique gift and a unique passion

5 passion principle:

1.Know what drives us

It is very important to know what drives us- some of our passion may be driven by the wealth, pride, prestige or even our parents
If we can say that God is the one that drives us, we will live a empty and repentful heart

2.Know who you care about

Our ministry should be all about people
The dreams that we have will be bigger than ourselves when it is related to your passions

3.Know the needs you will meet

4.Know the cost that you will help conquer

5.Know your ultimate dream for God's kingdom

We are all gifted and called to be a minster for God.

God give us gifts to minster effectively for Him not us, thus we should not use the gifts for our own glory

Spiritual Gifts

¹Now about spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be ignorant

The word "ignorant" means – "uninformed". God in heaven want you to know your gifts and maximising it in to the fullest in serving Him

¹³ From heaven the LORD looks down
and sees all mankind;

¹⁴ from his dwelling place he watches
all who live on earth-

¹⁵ he who forms the hearts of all,
who considers everything they do.

Everybody is a brand new idea from God- in another words we are created to be unique

If you choose not to be who God had created you to be, the church and His people will lose out.

If you don't choose to be who God had created you to be, god will choose others to be take over your destined position.

To gave the best worship to God, we need to be who God had created us to be

The main purpose of knowing your gifts is to fulfil your destiny

Three things that spiritual gifts are not:

Spiritual gifts are not the same as your personal trait
Spiritual gifts are not the same a natural talents

Talents have to do with techniques and methods but spiritual gifts have to do with spiritual endowment
We have to develop our spiritual gifts- we got to fan our spiritual gifts in to flame

Spiritual gifts is not the same as fruit of the spirit

The fruit of the spirit reveals Christ's contribution to our character, while our spiritual gifts reveal Christ's contribution we make to God's kingdom

What are spiritual gifts?

It is defined as a God given special ability given to every believers at conversion by the Holy Spirit to share to His love and strength the body of Christ

¹⁰Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms.

People can't see God but people can see God's hands and feet through us

Faith is ewhat you need to develop and find that spiritual gifts

In Mark 7: 31Then Jesus left the vicinity of Tyre and went through Sidon, down to the Sea of Galilee and into the region of the Decapolis. 32There some people brought to him a man who was deaf and could hardly talk, and they begged him to place his hand on the man. 33After he took him aside, away from the crowd, Jesus put his fingers into the man's ears. Then he spit and touched the man's tongue. 34He looked up to heaven and with a deep sigh said to him, "Ephphatha!" (which means, "Be opened!" ). 35At this, the man's ears were opened, his tongue was loosened and he began to speak plainly. 36Jesus commanded them not to tell anyone. But the more he did so, the more they kept talking about it. 37People were overwhelmed with amazement. "He has done everything well," they said. "He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak."

1) A bad start can go somewhere. Look @ the chapter in Mark 5, the people @ decapolis, they actually plead Jesus to leave their place despite seeing the miracle that Jesus did. However, after Jesus left, In the chapter of Mark 7, the people beg Jesus to heal the people in decapolis. We can do something!

2) Speak in faith, continue to speak! We need to speak our testimony, testimony of today not the past. Testimony of how we enjoyed in radical conference, testimony of how God touches us during radical conference, testimony of how our life is change by God through radical conference! We need have astonishing testimony, all we need to do is SPEAK!

Most of the time when we come before God, we always tell God to touch us. God, please come to touch me! Touch me! Yes, God touches us. However, it is not about God touching us anymore BUT US touching God!

In Luke 8: 42As Jesus was on his way, the crowds almost crushed him. 43And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years,but no one could heal her. 44She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped. 45"Who touched me?" Jesus asked. When they all denied it, Peter said, "Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you." 46But Jesus said, "Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me." 47Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed. 48Then he said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace."

The story above, the woman represents our generation:
- An act of desperation
- Genuine desire
- Bold, courageous declaration
- Actin of demonstration faith

In hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

1) You can receive from God what no one else can give. (43And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years,but no one could heal her)

In the crowd that day there was a woman who for twelve years had been afflicted with hemorrhages. She had spent every penny she had on doctors but NOT ONE HAD BEEN ABLE TO HELP HER. NO ONE can heal her! She dont know whether Jesus can heal her but her desperateness for living drive her to Jesus. You can receive from God what no one else can give if you come desperate to touch God!

In 1 Corinthians 2:9 However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him.

For leaders, It's not about our right of why we are serving but because God gave it to us.

2) You will experience God's power in your personal life. (46But Jesus said, "Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me.")

This woman, she know that no one can heal her, so eventually she might die @ home or later. To come might cost her life, not to come also might cost her life. She decided to come to Jesus and Jesus healed her! Look @ this woman, she dont even know if Jesus can heal but she still risk her life to come to the crowd to touch Jesus. For us, Are we willing to die for what we believe? To die means to go all the way out to impact the world not just by doing the normal things but being radical for God!

In Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

3) You will be commended and loved by God Himself. (48Then he said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.")

-Our Lord Jesus called her “Daughter”!
-He said to her, "My daughter, your trust has saved you; go in peace." (JEWISH BIBLE)
-Jesus said to her, "Dear woman, you are made well because you believed. Go in peace.“(NEW CENTURY VERSION)

God want us to be make known. Some of us will be doing great things for God, being a well known Pastor, Missionary, Businessman/woman, etc. No matter how tiny you are, God want to make you known!

4) You can begin a new journey of peace and blessings. (48Then he said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace.")

-Jesus said, "Daughter, you took a risk trusting me, and now you're healed and whole. Live well, live blessed!“(THE MESSAGE)

Radical Conference on Devotion by Pastor Dave.

Pastor Dave talked about snacking, Singaporean like to snack. We eat snack before meal, after meal, night time, late nights. We just love to snack, eat some here, some there, bit by bit here, bit by bit there, eat when we like. In our life to God, some of us are like snacking, eat some here, eat some there, eat only when we feel like.

How many times did we come to church for the sake of coming?
How many times did we our QT for the sake of doing?
How many times did we treat God like snack?

In Acts 2:42 They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

Devotion is more than just snacking. It takes on devotion to obeying the leaders teaching, devoted to fellowshipping with one another, breaking of bread and to prayer. In order to have that devotion, it back to choice. Choices of what we choose, to choose wholehearted devotion or snacking?

In Luke 15: 8 "Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins and loses one. Does she not light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it?

Look @ this woman, the 10 silver coins is a heirloom and it is very precious to her that she lost 1, she will do all she can do find the 1 silver coin back. What we value, we will go all the way to find, we wont stop until we find it. The coin is of value to the woman, she do what she can to protect it. Its the same thing to us, what we value, we need to protect it!

Pastor Dave showed us 2 coins. One coin is round, another one is half chipped off. In the past, some ppl will shaved off a slight edges of a coin. The shaved off part can be save up and with 30 coins saved, the shaved part can be collected to form 1 coin.

All of us start of with a perfectly round coin, but when we start to sin against God, thinking it is ok to this that, get into relationship, drift away from God, hang out with wrong company, etc. We are actually shaving the coin, 1 time, 2 times, 3 times, the perfect round coin become a half chipped coin.

In 2 Timothy 2: 14Keep reminding them of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen.

God is here, He is here to forgive, He is here to restore when we come back to Him, come back with a Heart of worship.

Imagine yourself, buying a chocolate for your boyfriend/girlfriend on a date. While waiting for him/her, you want to try the chocolate you bought to see if it taste good and whether your gf/bf like it anot. You open the box, taking 1 piece, 2 piece and when passed by came by, you gave 1 to him/her and others. Then, when your gf/bf arrive, you present it to him/her.

Our life is just like the box of chocolate and God is the girlfriend/boyfriend. Sometimes when we are tempted by the things of the world, relationship, drinking, smoking, clubbing, wrong company, lying. etc. We eat up the chocolate and at the end of everything, we present a box of chocolate that is not full because we ate it up.

In Mathew 7: 21"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

Heart Attack - Jealousy

Jealousy says God owe me

-Jealousy makes us feel lousy
-Jealousy comes from our own heart
-Jealousy can destroy relationships

1 Samuel 15:18(story of Saul's jealousy over David)

Jealous people like to hear what they like to hear
Alot of times, what we see might not be what it is.

Proverbs 14:30
A heart at peace gives life to the body,
but envy rots the bones.

Jealousy promotes self-pity.

Proverbs 27:4
Anger is cruel and fury overwhelming,
but who can stand before jealousy?

Jealousy is powerful!
If we don't get rid of jealousy in our lives, we'll continue to sin

Galatians 5:19-21
The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

What is the driving force behind your jealousy?

James 4:1
What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don't they come from your desires that battle within you?

Covet, to hoardly approach
Jealousy is like hunger, it will never be fully filled.
Like appetite, it will grow if we keep feeding it.

James 4:2
You want something but don't get it. You kill and covet, but you cannot have what you want. You quarrel and fight. You do not have, because you do not ask God

1 peter 5:7
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

4 things to do to get rid of jealousy

1. Admit your struggle to God

James 3:14
But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth.

Come clean with God about it!
In the heart of jealousy is 'God owes me'

Hebrews 4:16
Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

2. Know that you are special in God's eyes
-Jealousy is due to an insecure heart
-Satan wants us to think we are not good enough

3. Trust God.
Jealousy at it's roots is doubting(lack in trust) God
God knows if He answers all of our prayers, it'll destroy us
When you focus on God's plan, competition becomes irrelevant

James 1:17
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

Title: Heart Attack (Greed)

where your treasure is, is also where your heart is
God is interested in how you manage your money
Greed is not a financial issue but is a heart people
Greed is easy to hide behind virtual and self- presentation skills
Greedy people are people that is very selfish
Greedy people will expect you to return back what they had provided you
Luke 12:15
When you are angry or guilty people can tell, but when you are greedy no one can really tell because it is very personal
Allowing things of this world to take over the place of people is greed ( See things that is more important realtionship with people)
Fear of losing your own possesion fuel the whole concept of greed
Greedy people will rarely find peace with people around them , as what they focus on is material and things, not the relationship
Luke 12:15-21
we need to be aware of this fact, that things in this world is something that you can bring over to heaven. in another words, why invest so much in this world and be greedy over those "worthless" things
We will all die and eventually all the things that you used to owe will not be yours any more
Luke 12:21
It is not a matter of it somebody else will get it; it's just a matter of when and how. Either we will give it away while we still have time, or it will be taken away when our time runs out
Greed is conquer but being generous
Greed is not a feeling but is a refusal to act
Don't wait until God changed your heart then you begin to give and contribute with what you have ( Just like the concept, "you exercise to get a healthy heart, but not wait for a healthy heart to exercise)

The more you give the more cheerfully you will be

Heart Attack ( Guilt )

-Anger says you owe me, guilt says i owe you
- this discomfort (guilt) is part of the healing in our life. God want to heal us and strengthen us periodically
-we don;t wait for the hearts to be health to exercise, we exercise to make our heart healthy
* in order to lose weight (getting something done) we need to sweat it out and do something about it
-it requires us not only to pray but also to work it out with the power of the Lord
- thus, if we want to have a strong heart and not get a heart attack, you need to work it out
- in our life, there is some bad habits that we ought to change, but not just plainly find another excuse to cover it over

WE GOT EXPOSE IT TO GOD
- we cannot allow our confession habit to support our sin habit
confession is not about guilty relieves but is to seek for forgiveness from God and change (repent)
-confession is just the first step in a sequence of steps towards change
- this is an insult to god when to go back to the sin that we once committed after we confessed
- what comes after confession is life changed and not going back to the sin once committed

Three things that you need to know about confession:
1) Restitution
- Numbers5:6-7 :
- confession is not to make you feel guilty-free but is to change

2) Repentance
- Mark 1:4-5
- Public confession, public repentance

3) Restoration
-Luke 19:8

EXPOSE TO MAN

- James5:15-16
-when you start to expose to man, it is no longer a hidden sin and it will make you have the motivation to overcome the sin
- when you expose your sin to the light, the devil flee
- Matt 5:23-24
- open confession has the power to break he cycle of Sin

Part 2 of Heart attack(Guilt)

Remember heart attack part 1? Anger?
Anger says that you owe me
but guilt says the opposite,
Guilt says that i owe you

In order to cure something, we sometimes need to undergo discomfort
We exercise to be healthy, not exercise only when we are healthy(Amen?)

We need to work as much as we pray
We need to work out our heart

How to deal with guilt?
2 ways:

1. Expose it to God

How? Confession

1 John 1:5
This, in essence, is the message we heard from Christ and are passing on to you: God is light, pure light; there's not a trace of darkness in him.

-We need to start to expose our sins to the light

-Confession is not just words, but confession in the bible is about change!

-If we make confession a habit, it will eventually end up supporting our sin habit

-Do we confess to feel better? Do you expect change to happen after you confess?

When we confess,
3 things to do:

1) Restitution

Numbers 5:6-7
Say to the Israelites: 'When a man or woman wrongs another in any way and so is unfaithful to the LORD, that person is guilty and must confess the sin he has committed. He must make full restitution for his wrong, add one fifth to it and give it all to the person he has wronged.

Restitution means, making things right with the interest of other people

2)Repentance

Mark 1:4-5
And so John came, baptizing in the desert region and preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. The whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem went out to him. Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River

3)Restoration

Luke 19:8
But Zacchaeus stood up and said to the Lord, "Look, Lord! Here and now I give half of my possessions to the poor, and if I have cheated anybody out of anything, I will pay back four times the amount."

-Confession alone is not enough
it is the first step towards change

2. Expose to man

James 5:15-16
And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.

When light exposes, evil flees

Matthew 5:23-24
"Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.

We cannot resolve our differences with God without first resolving our differences with man(others)

Confessing secretly to God is no substitude for confessing openly to someone you have wronged

Open confession has the power to break the cycle of sin

Everyone of us have a belief system.
Like what the title says, you are what you think you are
If we want to change, its gotta start with the mind!

Everything starts from inside the mind.

We gotta change the way we think to have a breakthrough(we cannot remain e same and expect a change rite?)

3 steps for us to do, so that we can live victoriously!

1. Stop looking at who we are!
Genesis 1:27
So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.

God made us in His own image!

Genesis2:29-30

²⁹ Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. ³⁰ And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food." And it was so.

God has provided for our every needs

Exodus 3:7-12

The LORD said, "I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey—the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. And now the cry of the Israelites has reached me, and I have seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them. So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt."

But Moses said to God, "Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?"

And God said, "I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you^a]"> will worship God on this mountain."

God promised that 'I will be with you' so why think negatively that you cannot do it?

Jesus loves you because He loves you, not because you are good, handsome/pretty, clever. God doesn't love you for your good points, but He loves you because He loves you!

1 John 3:2

Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears,^a]">we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.

2. Stop looking at our own limitations

2 Corinthians 10:3-5

For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

-Jesus has already Empowered us

Ephesians 3:20

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,

3. Start to belief the truth!

Start to think beyond what we think, why?

Because your Christian walk is a direct result of what you think!

If your walk is wrong, you need to reflect on what are you tihnking

Title: Power of living

-Eph 5:18
- we are built to depend on the invisible source (the Holy Spirit)
- we are not designed to work on our own
- Without the fuel in the jet-ski, the jet ski will not be able to function and work. Similarly, in our life the Holy spirit is the fuel for us to live a meaningful and effective life

Misconceptions
1) I am a christian and therefore I am filled with the spirit
- Having the Holy Spirit in you, doesn't mean that you are filled with it
- Eph 5:18-20 : Paul is speaking to christian that wasn't filled the holy Spirit

2) I went to the Encounter Retreat, my leader prayed for me and therefore I am filled with the Holy Spirit
- we need to be filled by the holy Spirit continuously daily

- Romans 6:16: being Holy Spirit filled is a commitment

- Obey God to the fullest extent possible by letting the holy Spirit take absolute, complete total change of my life

- We cannot only let the Holy Spirit to filled parts of our life, but the whole life

1) Refuse to walk in the flesh

- Gala 5:16-17

- sin in our life actually clot up the avenue inwhich God want to pour down His anointing on us

a) Do not let sin reign anymore in our life

- confess and do not look back

- Romans 6:12-14-

- spiritual coma: Not filled by the Holy Spirit and just simply going with he current that the church is doing

The word Heart is mentioned for 840 times in the old testament.
The heart that is mentioned is not the one that pumps blood in your body, but its something that is within your mind

4 things that can cause a spiritual heart attack

one of it is...ANGER

Ephesians 4:31
Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.

Anger is neither good nor bad

If we allow anger to grow, it'll build up and eventually blow up.

How other people treat us doesn't mean that we have to treat them the same way as well...

Matt 18:21-35(NLT)
Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?” “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven!

“Therefore, the Kingdom of Heaven can be compared to a king who decided to bring his accounts up to date with servants who had borrowed money from him. In the process, one of his debtors was brought in who owed him millions of dollars. He couldn’t pay, so his master ordered that he be sold—along with his wife, his children, and everything he owned—to pay the debt.“But the man fell down before his master and begged him, ‘Please, be patient with me, and I will pay it all.’

Then his master was filled with pity for him, and he released him and forgave his debt.“But when the man left the king, he went to a fellow servant who owed him a few thousand dollars. He grabbed him by the throat and demanded instant payment.

“His fellow servant fell down before him and begged for a little more time. ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay it,’ he pleaded. But his creditor wouldn’t wait. He had the man arrested and put in prison until the debt could be paid in full.

“When some of the other servants saw this, they were very upset. They went to the king and told him everything that had happened. Then the king called in the man he had forgiven and said, ‘You evil servant! I forgave you that tremendous debt because you pleaded with me. Shouldn’t you have mercy on your fellow servant, just as I had mercy on you?’

Then the angry king sent the man to prison to be tortured until he had paid his entire debt.

“That’s what my heavenly Father will do to you if you refuse to forgive your brothers and sisters from your heart.”

forgiveness is about us, not about other people

Whenever there is a hurt, there is a thief

unforgiveness ia potentially a poison to the heart.

4 things to do to SLAY anger

1. Identify who we are angry with

2. Determine what they owe you
-if we don't know what they owe us, are we angry with them for nothing?

3. Cancel the debt
-forgiveness is a choice.
-people can provoke us to be angry, but we have the choice to stay angry or not.

4. Dismiss the case.
-Our feelings doesn't automatically follow our decisions.

2 things can happen when we forgive someone and they start to 'irritate' us again
-Stop forgiving
-think about something else

but both of the above is not what we should be doing, we should face it!

When memories of the past come, go and face it, don't reopen the case again, but restate your stand to forgive that person.

What we do with our memories, determines their impact in our lives.

FEELINGS IS NOT AN ACCURATE GAUGE

why should we cancel the debts? because, there are some debts that can never be repaid in any way

We are called to be transformers in the world

Changes on the outside is much More easiler than changes in the inside

Changes from the inside requires this tranforms: renewing of the mind

1. Do not conform any longer to this World

World

The heart of worldliness is simply leaving God out. Excluding His lordship from our daily lives from our decision making

Living differently begins by thinking differently

A) Through the Holy Spirit

Only the holy Spirit can do the transfermation
Biblical imperatives apart from biblical thinking result in short tern obedience and long training frustration

B) Through training

1 Cor 9:25 (strict discipline Training)
We are called to train to transform
Training means arranging my life around these activities that enables us to do what we cannot do now

C) Through faith

Without faith it will be impossible far us to please

God puts in everyone of us the will to live righteously

In order for us to do God's will, first we need to change

3 things that we need to do

1. Find out what is God's will in our life

the key to finding out God's will in your lives is in Jesus
Our foundation to know God's will is a relationship with Jesus
God gave us an ability to choose, which is also know as 'your will'
your will = a desire or intend to do something.

Our sinful nature prevents us from choosing the right things.

Ephesians 1:5-6
God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son.

Ephesians 1:12-14
God’s purpose was that we Jews who were the first to trust in Christ would bring praise and glory to God. And now you Gentiles have also heard the truth, the Good News that God saves you. And when you believed in Christ, he identified you as his own* by giving you the Holy Spirit, whom he promised long ago.

the Holy spirit teaches us about God's will.
God's will is not revealed to us all at a time, but on a day by day basis.
To know God's will, we need to observe Him, His likes and dislikes.

2. We need to change our personality.

1Corinthians 2:14
But people who aren’t spiritual* can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means.

God works in us to provide the will and the ability to do God's will

3. Commit our personality to God.

Galatians 5:16-17
So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions.

Mind: God renews my mind so that i can do His will

Body: God tells me to present my body as a living sacrifice to Him as my spiritual act of worship

Emotion: God's provides fruits of the spirit to control our emotion

Life: Christ lives in me when i am crucified with Him, and He provides the power to do His will.(Galatians 2:20)

Title: what is it to be a priest?

1 peter 2:9

Priest in the Old Testament is the only one that can have encounter with God.

Lens (experiences)- sometime it restrict us from see the whole picture

New Testament: Jesus says that every one is a priest, making the priest to be same as others

Jesus said that you are the priest, the light unto the world

Laity- part time people
Clergy - full time people (to have us read and explain the bible)

Every one is same! There is nothing special with the pastors. The way power of them praying and you praying is the same

Every one is a minister, but are we living as a minister? Speaking about it is one thing, and living it is another?

We need to first know what is God's heartbeat

Isn't it funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says.

Isn't it funny how everyone wants to go to heaven provided they do not have to believe, think, say, or do anything the Bible says. Or is it scary?

Isn't it funny how someone can say ' I believe in God ' but still follow Satan (who, by the way, also 'believes' in God ).

Isn't it funny how you can send a thousand jokes through e-mail and! they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord , people think twice about sharing.

Isn't it funny how the lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene pass freely through cyberspace, but the public discussion of Jesus is suppressed in the school and workplace.

Isn't it funny how someone can be so fired up for Christ on Sunday, but be an invisible Christian the rest of the week.

We will become a too contained if we got the things we want too easily

1. Abide- to trust, to cling on

We must give God all of our trust, not just a portion of it
God will test on your faith, if you say that you trust in God
We got to out our faith into action
It is easy to say that we trust in God when everything is going well, however it maybe a total different situation when are in a calamity
Remain in Him mean trusting in Him in no matter when happen
Trust in Him and need not to worry about today and tomorrow

2. Submitting to Him

Allowing him to use us on whatever things that he want us to do

Verse:26-27
The Bible doesn’t tell us that we shouldn’t feel angry, but it points out that it is important to handle our anger properly. If vented thoughtlessly, anger can hurt others and destroy relationships. If bottled up inside, it can cause us to become bitter and destroy us from within. Paul tells us to deal with our anger immediately in a way that builds relationships rather than destroys them. If we nurse our anger, we will give Satan an opportunity to divide us. Are you angry with someone right now? What can you do to resolve your differences? Don’t let the day end before you begin to work on mending your relationship.
Verse:28-32
We can bring sorrow to the Holy Spirit by the way we live. Paul warns us against unwholesome language, bitterness, improper use of anger, harsh words, slander, and bad attitudes toward others. Instead of acting that way, we should be forgiving, just as God has forgiven us. Are you bringing sorrow or pleasing God with your attitudes and actions? Act in love toward your brothers and sisters in Christ, just as God acted in love by sending his Son to die for your sins.

1. Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. Itis the ultimate anti-depressant. (Spend time with God!!)

2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Buy a lock if you have to. (Haha!)

3. Buy a DVR and tape your late night shows and get more sleep.

4. When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement,'My purpose is to __________ today.'

5. Live with the 3 E's -- Energy, Enthusiasm, and Empathy.

6. Play more games and read more books than you did in 2008.

7. Make time to pray. Prayers provide us with daily fuel for our busy lives. (IMPORTANT!!)

8. Spend time with people over the age of 70 and under the age of 6.

9. Dream more while you are awake. (RUBBISH!)

10. Eat more food that grows on trees and plants, and eat less foodthat is manufactured in 'plants'.

11. Drink green tea and plenty of water. Eat blueberries, wildAlaskan salmon, broccoli, almonds & walnuts.

12. Try to make at least three people smile each day. (SMILE WHEN COME CELLGROUP! :) :) :) :))

13. Clear clutter from your house, your car, your desk and let newand flowing energy into your life.

14. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires,issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control.Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment. (AMEN!)

When we are doing evangelism, it really got to start from our heart, "compassion heart".
Do we have a heart that care for the lost Souls out there?

Evangelism tricks and tactics

1. Where there the lost souls? And What God is doing in the person?

Pray to Know where God is working
When we pray for the person that we want to reach out to, it is like the magnifying glass that focuses all the power from the Sun to the paper that is going burn.
Matt 15:8- some people are close while others are far away from God ,We need to pray to Know where they are Standing
If we have a friend that is Close to God, invite them to Church and Share to them.
For people that are far away ,We got to have a journey with them to lead them to Christ (by spending Some time with them)

2. We got to listen to them

If we want people to learn and respect the Jesus That we believe ,we got to learn to listen to them first

3. We got to ask some good question

If you can ask God any three questions what will it be?
Have you wonder what is your purpose of life?

We are peculiar people, not normal but unique
Stand out from the norm and be outstanding
The things that make you unique, yet you tried to copy
Mediocrity is mass produced ,destiny is custom designed
What makes you unique is what that makes you powerful
God wants you to be who you really are
God can use every one, including those that is quiet

How to be purple and special?

Is to stay connected with one that created you
To know who we really are, is to find it out from God

The vine is Jesus and Jesus alone, he is the true vine

what the similarity?
Some of you may realise that the similarity is in the red colour of the blood and the red that the 'nian' is afraid of, and that 'nian' and the angel of death sent by God all came to take lives

-What does it mean? it means that when we obey the lamb of God, He will bring prosperity into our lives.

A thing or person whom we rely on, but is it God that we rely on?
When we start to trust, We will place our eyes on Him.
With all the pressures and distraction from the world we still need to focus on God

We need to have the resolve to change our focus from self to God for Strength

· Jesus endured to the shame for us on the cross- he was greatly humiliated by the Roman soldiers

Definition of Shame

· a painful feeling of guilt or humiliation caused by the awareness of dishonourable or foolish behaviour

· The painful feeling arising from the consciousness of something dishonourable, improper and ridiculous. Etc- done by oneself or another

· A painful emotion caused by a strong sense of guilt unworthiness or disgrace

1. Understand with your heart and with your mind that Jesus Christ took shame for you on the cross

HOW TO SHARE?

You must memorise these 6 Key verses

1) The Fact of Sin
· Romans 3:23 -for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

· What is sin? – Things like lying, stealing, Lust..... ( you can use yourself as an example to explain that all have sin) (E.g. . Christian: “Hey, I tell you something, last time I always steal my parents and end up lying to them that i didn’t took it. And that is actually sin. And so we are actually all sinners.”)

· By using your story as an example, the non-believer can better understand what exactly is sin

· Never accuse your friend on any particular sin (e.g. . Christian: “hey, john (non-believer) I heard that you always like to steal things from others right? Ha-ha, don’t think I don’t know, and stealing is a sin”)......... This might be offensive to your friend whom you are sharing to.

· Be tactful!!

2) The Penalty of Sin
· Romans 6:23- For the Wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

· we need to explain the word “eternal life”

· Eternal life- Spending the rest of your life with God after you die

· So where do you want to be after you die? Hell? Heaven?

3) The Judgement is certain

· Hebrews 9:27 - And just as people are appointed to die once, and then to face judgment

· “God is going to Judge you for the things you ddi”

4) Christ Paid the Penalty

· Romans 5:8- But God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us

· Ask your friends this question: “ will you die for me?” ... sure you will receive a NO,

· “ But Jesus actually died for all man-kind to cleanse away all our sins”

5) Salvation is a free gift

· Eph 2:8-9 - For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.

6) You must accept Jesus Christ
· John 1:12- Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God

Ø Be Flexible in sharing – never try to force the Gospel down their throat. Just do your best and leave the rest to God. God is the one who draws

Ø Be clear on what you are sharing- do not jump your points every where

Ø Use terms in which your friends can understand. Some Christian words/ terms may be difficult for them to understand. Words like, cellgroup, service, fellowship. Your friend may not understand what is the service that you are talking about. EXPLAIN!

1. Every believer have a responsibility
· We need to .......
(a) Minister to God- in prayer, praise and worship
(b) Minister to one another- through loving, relationship, finance and spiritual support
(c) Minister to the world- by healing people that is either physically or spiritually sick, casting our demons and telling them the good news

2. It is a great privilege
· The early church member actually made an effort to go out to help the sinners and share the Gospel to them
· Every one of us is a minister of Christ to the world

3. Every believer is commissioned

· Matt 5:16
· Luke 14:23

5 practical steps to fulfil God’s mission for us

1) Look around
· By God’s design, he had already amazingly place you with the non-believer for you to minister to them

2) Look up
· See things through the perceptive from God
· We need to cry out to God and Pray.
· PUSH ( Pray Until Something Happen)

So what are the things that we can pray for?
(1) Ask God to send labourers into the field
· Matt 9:28

(2) Pray for the (5) people that you are reaching out for God

(3) Pray against the fear that you may have
· The no1 fear that many people might have in their hearts during sharing is actually the Fear of Rejection

3) Look out
· Always look out for ways and opportunities to share
· Never wait for the opportunities to come, YOU find it!!

4) Look forward
· Look forward for any chance in which you can bring your friend to know Christ ( E.g. Cellgroup Outing, Fellowship Lunch)

5) Look after
· After the person that you shared to have received Christ, it is very important for us to still guide them and teach them.

You need to speak the right things.

By repeatedly saying, it will come true.

What is faith?

Faith is to close your PHYSICAL eyes but open your SPIRITUAL eyes

5. Your CHARACTER will eventually let you live your life to the fullness or destroy you.

Discipline in the bible means to teach you or train you.

You need to do the right things and say the right words when you are in a very DIFFICULT situation

6. Becareful of what you sow in your life.

If you sow bad things in your life, you will reap bad things.
Example: You sow a durian seed, you get durian out of it, not apple right?

7. Remember to sieze the OPPORTUNITY

You can only live your life once. Live it well and live it to the full!

1- Have a clear goal in our life

No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it,* but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.
Let all who are spiritually mature agree on these things. If you disagree on some point, I believe God will make it plain to you.

2- Start to DREAM
>Dream as big as possible
->dreaming is the way to release our GREATEST POTENTIAL

3- Nuture our dreams
>if we don't nuture our dreams, it will remain as a dream and never become a reality
>We need to find details about the dreams, and how to make it become reality

4- Remove all negative elements
> Negative elements only make us feel miserable

For us to change negative thoughts to positive thoughts

1st-we need to locate the negative thinking

2nd-we need to REMOVE the negative thoughts
-how? by binding and casting it out in the name of Jesus

3rd-we need to replace it with the word of God
-how? memorising verses =]

Don't let what happened yesterday affect the things you do today, because it is just not worth it

Covenant
-willingness to enter fully into a relationship with someone else

Contract
-solemn agreement and promise witnessed and guaranteed by God

Why are they different?
-Contract can be broken
-Covenant is about commitment
-Contract is about convenience

God has set us free!
God's purpose of the covenant is to BLESS US!

1- Covenant keeps us free within the boundary set

We need to know that TROUBLE IS COMING!

though trouble is coming, but we shouldn't avoid it

So think clearly and exercise self-control. Look forward to the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world.

-We need to prepare our mind for it to come
-We need to rest our hope in Jesus

We need to be ready for problems to come, so that when it comes, we would not have to ask "why did troubles happen to me?"

>>Christ is offering us a place where we can find peace no matter what happens!<<

The cross is the place where we amplify God's message of hope to the ENTIRE world

-Everyone is broadcasting some message to the world in their everyday actions

-Suffering and hardship are an amplifier to whatever is in our hands

It was when Jesus was hurt the most that His message to the world was the loudest!

What is YOUR MESSAGE to the world when trouble comes your way?

When our purpose is life is not about God, our lives will crumble when problems/troubles come

There is a greater purpose for us today!

John 17:1-5
After saying all these things, Jesus looked up to heaven and said, “Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son so he can give glory back to you. For you have given him authority over everyone. He gives eternal life to each one you have given him. And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth. I brought glory to you here on earth by completing the work you gave me to do. Now, Father, bring me into the glory we shared before the world began.

John 12:23-27
Jesus replied, “Now the time has come for the Son of Man* to enter into his glory. I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. Jesus wanted to glorify God's name in everything that He does

The Lord gave me this message:
“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb.
Before you were born I set you apart
and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.”

Where do we base our self esteem on?

1)world's view of self-esteem
- I world something cause i'm doing well and other ppl look up to me

Proverbs 11:2
Pride leads to disgrace,
but with humility comes wisdom.

Proverbs 16:18
Pride goes before destruction,
and haughtiness before a fall.

2)God's view of self-esteem
- Having an understanding of God's view of who we actually are
All of us have value in God's eyes
- We are made in God's image

Genesis 1:27
So God created human beings* in his own image.
In the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

- We belong to God

>We are special with God

3)A humble view of ourselves

and was born as a human being.
When he appeared in human form,

We should be humble, because what we have is not what we earned, but God's grace upon our lives

Pride = putting ourselves more important than anything else

Inferiority complex is a form of pride

We have to use what we have to serve God

Colossians 3:23-24
Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.

No matter how the world views us, we will never lose our relationship as well as our value to God.

I have gathered prayer request from many of you all, pls do pray each other!

-Disciples to be given problems to challenge their faith
-Family; sister and father to seek forgiveness upon each other

I was know that i dignosed with scoliosis on 12th august

When the doctor did X ray on me

He told me that my spine is curved

example of scolosis is the picture provided

he say that i will be like that rest of my life

Unless i go for a major operation

which is likely to be paralyse if the operation fails

he asked me to bring my parents next week

so that he can talk to them

i will be downgraded for ns

i will be restricted to many activities

my bone is now consider strong

so it wont recover except operation

i was super depressed after hearing it

broke down after i walked out

After that i went to find physiotherapist

the senior therapist checked my spine

he told me that there might be hope

asking me down everyday to do exercises and stretch myself

from monday to friday 8.30 for 3 weeks

thats the best they can help me

if i still dont get well

they cant do much too

my condition is not too good not too bad

Quotes: Often our inner life is left underdeveloped due to the spot-light on the other life.

Quotes: Our inward character is the infrastructure that holds us up through our lives.

Without character, you can only serve God so much. But with Character, you can serve God much more!

Quotes: The greater size is your gifts, the more time you must dedicate in developing your character.

Many people are confused over Character and Reputation. Let me show you what are the differences between them.

The circumstance amid which you live determine your reputation, but the truth you believe determines your Character.

Reputation is what you are supposed to be but character is what you are.

Reputation is the photographs, but character is the face.

Reputation comes over one from without, but character grows up from within.

Reputation is what you have when you come to a new community but character is what you have when you go away.

Reputation is made in a moment but character is built in a lifetime.

Reputation is learned in an hour but your character does not come to light for a year.

Reputation grows like a mushroom; but character last like eternity.

Reputation makes you rich or makes you poor, but character makes you happy or makes you miserable.

Reputation is what men say about you on your tombstone, but character is what the angels say about you before the throne of God.

Quotes: A good name is more desirable then great riches. But a good reputation exists because it's the reflection of a person's character. Worry less about what other think, and give your attention to your inner character. King Solomon

[2] Dear brothers and sisters,* whenever trouble comes your way, let it be an opportunity for joy. [3] For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. [4] So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be strong in character and ready for anything. (Jam 1:2-4 NLT)

What is Integrity?

Quotes:

Integrity is more than just telling the truth when not one knows the truth.
Integrity is doing what you said you would do even when no one is checking.
Integrity means keeping your promises even when the other party forgets.
Integrity means that your words & your actions are the same even when you are alone.

Webster Dictionary describe Integrity as

"Adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty."

Why Must have integrity?

1) Integrity Protects you

[21] May integrity and uprightness protect me, because my hope is in you. (Psa 25:21 NIV)

2) Integrity causes you to be secure

[9] The man of integrity walks securely, but he who takes crooked paths will be found out. (Pro 10:9 NIV)

3) Integrity allows people to trust you.

[6] Many will say they are loyal friends, but who can find one who is really faithful? [7] The godly walk with integrity; blessed are their children after them. (Pro 20:6-7 NLT)

Quotes: A person with integrity influences others because he wants to bring something that will benefit them, not to gain something out of them.

What Integrity is Not

Integrity is not determined by Circumstances

[2] I will be careful to live a blameless life-- when will you come to my aid? I will lead a life of integrity in my own home. [3] I will refuse to look at anything vile and vulgar. I hate all crooked dealings; I will have nothing to do with them. (Psa 101:2-3 NLT)
Integrity is Not based on Credentials

[1] Happy are people of integrity, who follow the law of the LORD. [2] Happy are those who obey his decrees and search for him with all their hearts. [3] They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in his paths. (Psa 119:1-3 NLT)

How can we become a Person of Integrity?

Quotes: You can choose to bend your actions to conform to your principles, or you can bend your principles to conform to your actions.

To become a person of integrity, you need to go back to fundamentals.

Commit yourself to be honest and reliable

As we commit ourselves to this lifestyle, lets ask God to Examine us:

[2] Test me, O Lord, and try me, examine my heart and my mind; (Psa 26:2 NIV)

[17] I know, my God, that you test the heart and are pleased with integrity. All these things have I given willingly and with honest intent. And now I have seen with joy how willingly your people who are here have given to you. (1Ch 29:17 NIV)
Start Small

[10] "Unless you are faithful in small matters, you won't be faithful in large ones. If you cheat even a little, you won't be honest with greater responsibilities. (Luk 16:10 NLT)

Quotes: "Character is made in the small moments of our lives."

Quotes: Honesty is a habit you ingrain by doing the right thing all the time, day after day, week after week, year after year. If you consistently do what's right in the little things, you are less likely to wander off course morally or ethically.

Refused to be persuaded by others.

[14] They came to him and said, "Teacher, we know you are a man of integrity. You aren't swayed by men, because you pay no attention to who they are; but you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. Is it right to pay taxes to Caesar or not? (Mar 12:14 NIV)

Application:

For the next 1 week, make a commitment to not lie, exaggerate or distort the truth. In your conversation, speak honestly about yourself. If you accidentally exaggerate something, commit yourself to return to that person and apologies; then correct the statement you made to reflect the truth. At the end of the week, evaluate how difficult this was. How many times you apologies to someone.
